MIT Media Lab already demonstrated DuoSkin’s capability in three different ways that functions as inputs, outputs and communication devices. The input devices can be used as a trackpad, a button or a slider to control mobile devices and computers or adjust the volume of a music system. Output devices display data such as changing colors based on your body temperature or what emotions you are feeling. Finally, the communication devices can keep data in your tattoo that phones and other NFC-enabled devices can read. Cindy Hsin-Liu Kao, one of the team’s lead researchers, said DuoSkin tattoos are very simple to make and extremely appealing to look at. In order to create patterns for the circuit, you can use any graphics software and just put on a gold leaf layer on top for conductivity.
