“IFA is a great venue for showcasing our newest home appliances because this is where the best in the industry all come together,” said Jo Seong-jin, president of LG electronics, in a statement. “LG’s advanced kitchen appliances are second to none when it comes to the modern consumer’s home dining experience.” The LG Smart InstaView Door-In-Door Refrigerator comes with a 21.5-inch translucent touchscreen, which you can use to interact with Windows 10 backed with 2GB of RAM and an Intel Atom processor. It also supports Microsoft’s personal assistant Cortana and offers access to the full range of Windows Store apps and Live Tiles, plus some LG apps too. The fridge has other cool features too, like double tapping on the screen makes it translucent, allowing you to see the contents of your fridge without opening the door. The bottom of the refrigerator has a smart sensor that opens the door automatically when you step into the light projection. You can also apply different temperatures at various sections of the fridge. Further, LG’s own Windows 10 apps are designed so that users can drag and drop icons against the food item in the fridge in case they wish to leave a note on any food item, add recipes and healthy information about meals, set a timer, or simply mark food that you can see through the translucent display. While LG is yet to announce its pricing of its Smart Instaview Door-in-Door, the refrigerator is expected to start shipping late this year or early next year in select markets including the U.S.
