G20 Summit
The Australia 2014 G-20 Australia summit will be the ninth meeting of the G-20 heads of government. It will be held in Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland, Australia, on 15 and 16 November 2014. The hosting venue will be the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. It is expected to attended by a galaxy of world leaders. More than 4000 representatives from the 20 countries of the block are expected to visit the summit. President Obama of United States, President Putin of Russia, President of EU, Jose Manuel Barroso, Prime Minister Modi of India, Prime Minister Cameron of United Kingdom, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan, President Xi Jinping of China are some of the dignitaries expected to come together to work out a cohesive policy framework for a better world. Leaders from Mauritania, Myanmar, New Zealand, Senegal, Singapore, and Spain are also invited to this summit. Some 2500 media representatives will be covering the event on behalf of various media outlets of the world.
Security Breach
The Queensland police who are in charge of the security of the G-20 venue said that they had discovered 2 projectors which were disguised as security cameras inside the venue. They said that the projectors were to be activated in the course of the summit by remote control to beam anti-G-20 slogans on the walls of the convention centre. The G-20 summit is considered very high profile event and the Brisbane local government has declared a Public holiday on 14th November 2014 when the world leaders will gather in Brisbane. The Authorities have also declared significant part of the city’s CBD surrounding the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre a restricted area. The Queensland police have a reason to be worried. If a projector which can be activated via a remote device/smart phone can go inside the venue which is hosting the top most leaders of the world, pretty much anything can go inside.
